Tāiko Print
Tāiko Print
This beautiful Tāiko, otherwise known as the Magenta Petrel is only found on the Chatham Islands, and was commissioned by the Catham Hotel. The original now hangs is the hotel restaurant.
The Tāiko was once thought to be extinct, the last sighted bird shot down in the late 1800s, but was sighted again in 1978. There are now about 15 breeding pairs.
For this reason 25% of the profit of all print sales will be donated to the Chatham Island Tāiko Trust to help continue their important work.
Prints are currently released in three sizes on Hahnemühle German Etching fine art papers using Giclee Inks, beautifully digitised and printed image by John at Print Art - Fine Art Imaging.
